Tommy Crane is a NY based drummer, keyboardist and composer. He is the leader of the post fusion band, Late Bloomer with David Moore (Bing and Ruth), Greg Chudzik (Steve Reich) and Simon Jermyn (Jim Black Trio). His most recent project “Preservation” is an audiovisual collaboration with filmmaker Tracy Maurice. The piece was performed live with Colin Killalea (Albert Hammond Jr.) and Eliot Krimsky (Glass Ghost) and premiered at David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center in 2017. The recording of “Preservation" will be released in the summer of 2019. He has performed and recorded internationally with such artists as Thus Owls, Port St Willow, Juliana Daugherty, Ex Poet’s, Bing and Ruth, Half Waif, Logan Richardson, Greg Osby, Ambrose Akinmusire, and The Mingus Big Band. He is currently a member of Aaron Parks: Little Big, Concurrence (featuring Paul Horton of Alabama Shakes), and Wood River. Crane has contributed original compositions to various WNYC podcasts including NPR’s 'Death, Sex, and Money', and ‘Vine Pair”. He is also a Sunhouse Artist.
